Letting Them Be Girls First Since 2009
Girls First is a tuition-free, out-of-school program for students in grades 1 through 4 that offers academic, social and emotional support through creative studies in dance, visual arts, drama, and music. We provide a safe, supportive environment where students practice respect for self and others, discover new skills and talents, and develop tools that will allow them to achieve greater success in school and beyond.
My Favorite Thing About Girls First Is....
Well I really like music because I like singing but I also really like art And and drama helps my acting skills and dance.
My favorite art club is music because we get to talk about our emotions and get to write songs about our emotions.
I really like art, I like music, I like drama, and I like dance! They have everything I like to do here - You should really come!

Our Curriculum
Artsee©, utilizes the engaging power of drama, dance, music, and visual art to cultivate self-regulation, agency, self-efficacy, and empathy. It features a heavy emphasis on celebration and invites family, friends, and community members to participate in recognizing the accomplishments of students.
Teaching Artists
Integral to our program are Girls First’s Teaching Artist Apprentices (TAAs). The Apprenticeship Program provides trauma-informed training for teaching artists to create and support equitable learning environments through arts-based explorations that integrate academic and social-emotional skill building.

Girls First is tuition-free and no family is ever asked to pay for our program. But our no-cost approach is only possible because of the
generosity of our donors. There are many ways to give - choose the method that works best for you!
